Winter Training 2008
Winter training will recommence on Wed 10th September at 7.30 p.m. at Tavistock College Sports Hall with Nigel Jenkins The Press Up King, complete with 1980’s music.

Ladies & Rowing machines
Mon 25th Feb 8 p.m Bere Ferres Social Club. Robin Brew is providing coaching and tips on using the rowing machines. More info from Mike Barnes who has arranged this ‘Ladies night’. A recent men’s night was very useful.

Fittness
Dry rowing (using rowing machines) has been organized by Mike Barnes at Bere Ferrers Social Club for Monday Nights at 8.00 pm. We will be using the Club Concept 2 Rowing Machines with hopefully Rae’s. Mike’s contacted Robin Brew who will be popping down to give us advice & tips. For more info contact mapbarnes@hotmail.com

Training over Xmas
Wed 12/12/07. Circuit training Bere ALSTON School 7.30 p.m. (thanks for pointing out the error guys)
Wed 19/12/07 Lap of Burrator ( 4 miles), meet at the dam 7.30 p.m. Bring a torch & something reflective. Cyclists, dogs, walkers and joggers welcome. Retiring to the Roayl Oak for a Christmas drink afterwards.
Boxing day 11.a.m. Jingle bells jog around Burrator. See Tamar Trotters website for details. Wear club tops and something festive, bring a wrapped gift to drop in the sack at the start and pick one up at the finish. This is not an organised event just a fun thing. Masses (truly) attend and car parking is a nightmare.

The Session start times allow for a 15-minute Gig and rowing preparation.
A detailed schedule for the full season is available on the club notice board and on the Website. Please check this as sessions may vary according to the tide.

Circuit Training
On Wednesday 21st November, 12th December and 16th January circuits will be held at Bere Alston School and not at Tavistock College.

Circuit training 10th Oct 07 cancelled
Due to Goose fair circuit training will be cancelled on Wed 10th Oct. Instead keenies and not so keenies are meeting at Burrator Dam on Thurs 11th Oct 7 p.m. to jog or run or walk around the reservoir (3.84 miles) bring a flourescent item to wear if you have one and a torch. We will retire to the Royal Oak to mark a birthday afterwards (without flourescent kit.) Normal circuits at 7.30 p.m. each Wednesday will resume the following week.

Format of training- warm-up including short run outside.
45 minutes of intense traditional circuits working around
exercise stations in the hall to improve strength and stamina. Individuals to work at own pace under Nigel’s guidance.
What you need- to come appropriately dressed in exercise
kit and trainers and a layer to wear outside .A drink and subs.

Go to Peter Tavy, turn right past the church, over the cattle grid and about 400 meteres up the hill on the left – small quarry car park.
7pm. Will probably be raining so bring dry clothes for the Peter Tavy Inn.

Summer off road training
Off road training with former Marine PTI and circuits guru Nigel Jenkins – it’s that river hopping time of year again.
Every other Thursday (starting 19th April). Meet Shaugh Bridge car park 7pm.
Fantastic off road run with a difference – all levels of fitness can come along, grit useful. Non-gig club members very welcome.
£2 – one for Nigel and his inimitable coaching skills, and one for Tamar and Tavy Gig Club.
In between weeks – off-road run led by a club member – share your favourite route.
Bring dry clothes for post-run gathering in the pub.
